Description
Set of two books: Teacher’s Edition and Student Reader of CPR Alphabet Practice Stories: 25 Phonetic Stories for Grades 1–3 provides engaging, carefully controlled reading practice for beginning and struggling readers. Each illustrated story reinforces alphabet sounds, closed and open syllables, consonant blends, multisyllable words, and common word endings through a systematic progression from first- to third-grade reading levels.
The stories use highly decodable text with a limited number of common Fry sight words clearly identified at the top of each page. Colorful illustrations support comprehension without replacing the important work of decoding. Each story also includes four comprehension questions and one vocabulary question to strengthen understanding and oral discussion.
Developed by an experienced reading specialist, this collection is especially helpful for students with dyslexia, English-language learners, and children who need additional phonics practice. It may be used independently or as supplemental practice with the Controlled Phonetic Reading Program. Suitable for classrooms, intervention groups, tutoring sessions, and home instruction.
